Christmas in July. Really?
Christmas in July. Really? What possesses anyone but a retailer to think about Christmas, especially in the middle of a heat wave. The very last thing I want to think about is sweaters and hot chocolate.
I walked into the fabric store this week, to look for a craft item, and Christmas hit me, full on in the face. Table after table, stacked with Snowmen wearing wooly scarves, and Christmas Angels, Reindeer, and fake snow. All for 50% off! Really? You're already having sales?
What happened to having a big sale after the holiday is over. Don't get me wrong. I love a good sale! But Christmas started creeping up in front of Thanksgiving, then it creeped up past Halloween, and now, here it is, smack dab in July. Not some nutty car salesman, coming up with a wacky theme to get people's attention, but just getting a jump on your holiday shopping list.
Really? I think not.
If this keeps up, it's gonna creep up on the Easter Bunny, and before you know it, you'll end up with Two Christmas's for the Price of One! Which is really just them cheating you out of a whole Christmas.
I'm boycotting the Christmas in July sale.
I have half a mind to just hand make all my gifts this year!
Well, yeah. I guess I will have to hit the craft store for that. But not for any pre made Christmas crap!
Okay, the Snowmen were cute. But it's too hot to buy a Snowman!

Ha! :-) We were in Hobby Lobby in JUNE and they were putting up their Christmas aisles already. My 12 year old couldn't believe it -- and she LOVES Christmas. I appreciate the crafts being available early, though. Thanks for sharing on Pin It Wednesday.
ReplyDeletelolol somehow i think i would jump at the sales even if for a premade christmas. a sale is a sale, i know i hate the crowds after christmas. but i agree with it being a little bit too early. even halloween sales bug me. im still worried about the back to school sales!
ReplyDeleteI was in the store yesterday and saw the most adorable black cat halloween decoration! I'm a sucker for black cats because I used to have one who was the love of my life. So, I bought it.
